Easter in the rain! he could not anymore. Sunday afternoon we move in Val di Susa, they had already stopped raining and the roads are already dry. We go up to 1400 m. at Pian del Frais, we find a small hotel and spend the night. In the morning the sky is clear and the snow had fallen the day before it is well frozen. There are good prospects for a good trip, all on a north slope, then descend with deep snow.
Road map: drive to Turin and then towards Frejus up to Susa. Climb then Frais (12 km.). Park at the bottom of a narrow road uphill in a few houses west of the village. About 1480 m.
ascent route: Continue on that road a few meters is not kept clear of snow, reached a large clearing, go left towards the Bergeria dell'Orseira 1652 m. and left her on the right go up the valley Comba Scura. A q. About 1800 cross the valley to climb all the larch wide but steep until it ends at the collar of Naia 2200 m.
Continue along the broad ridge above and out of the woods to reach the Hill of Valletta q. 2551 m. where are the ruins of a barracks. Right on the other side go up a valley that leads to the summit. From the hill you can turn left to climb to the peak also Ciantiplagna.
Descent: for the same route up to the collar of Naia then you can choose between going up or the opposite side of the Vallone Muliere, in this case in safe conditions, about 150 meters before the hill you can go down a steep valley that joins up just below the hill (beautiful !). The Vallone Muliere leads again Frais. You can also follow uphill.
Elevation gain: 1260 meters.
